Douglas, who is contesting the West New Georgia-Vona Vona seat in Western Province, is facing one count of corruption.
This was in relation to when he was adviser to the Western Provincial Government.
He failed to turn up in court on Monday, prompting the court to issue the warrant of arrest.
But Douglas turned up yesterday and told the court why he could not make it for his scheduled hearing.
Douglas said he did not know his case was due in court on Monday this week because he did not appear at the last hearing.
He said he was in Western Province campaigning when someone told him the news of the warrant of arrest.
Douglas said he boarded the next available flight and head back to Honiara to explain the reasons for his absence.
He said before he left to conduct his campaign, he went to his lawyer’s office Wilson Rano, to let him know of his whereabouts, but his lawyer was not in the office.
Douglas apologised to the court and presiding magistrate Mekeo Gaulia accepted his explanation and withdrew the warrant.
His lawyer Mr Rano always apologised over his absence on Monday.
He told the court he was discharged from hospital on Monday where he was admitted.
The case returns to court on August 16.
