TWENTY-NINE new police recruits took their oaths of allegiance as they joined ranks with the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) yesterday.

Deputy Police Commissioner Walter Kola said he was pleased to welcome the new officers into the force.

The new recruits will graduate today after completing 17 weeks of training at the Jackson Ofu’s recruit class.

“I’m very happy to say that these 29 officers were the first to be issued with the blue police crown and police blue belt. Previously we have been wearing green belts and green crown,” he said.

Mr Kola said the new officers will join in election duties straight after their passing parade today.
