Campaigning heats up in Honiara

The final day of campaign for contesting candidates has seen some of the biggest convoy of vehicles throughout the capital, Honiara today, slowing down traffic.


Candidates for East, Central and West Honiara and some candidates as far as Guadalcanal province paraded through Honiara, bringing the public to a standstill to watch the convoys along the streets of Honiara.

Royal Solomon Islands Police Force, Participating Police Fore and the Military were kept busy all day in ensuring peace during the final day of campaign.

The biggest convoy of vehicles that paraded through Honiara was Namson Tran whose contesting West Honiara Seat.  Six outboard boards motor boats were used in the parade, along with more that twenty trucks filled with supporters.
