Dorcas congress set to kick start in Malaita

CLOSE to two thousand dorcas ladies and Adventist men from the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Church throughout the country will attend a weeklong Dorcas congress in Afutara, West Kwaio, Malaita Province this week.

The week-long congress will start today and will end on Wednesday 15 July next week.

Beverly Maega of the Solomon Islands Mission of the Seventh day Adventist (SDA) looking after the women’s ministry said about 2000 Dorcas ladies and Adventist men are confirmed for the congress.

Registration continued yesterday but are expecting more to join the congress.

At the congress the ladies will share their experiences and reports of what they have been doing in each of their districts around the country and what they are expected to do in the coming years.

“They will not only be praying and fellowshipping but they will also visit the nearby communities in the Afutara region.”

Pr Luther Taniveke from Trans Pacific Union Mission will be the guest speaker during the congress week.

Most of the dorcas members and Adventist men are already in Honiara since last week.

MV Anjeaneth is scheduled to transport all the participants across to Malaita tonight.
