Murder accused to know fate Oct 1

THREE men accused of the murder of a Melanesian brother in 2003 will know their fate on October 1.

This is when Justice David Cameron will deliver his ruling.

Hence William, Gedly Isa and Carradine Pitakaka are each charged with the murder of Brother Sado at Pite village in Weathercoast, Guadalcanal.

Counsels made their final submissions yesterday.

Bail for William was extended while Pitakaka and Isa were further remanded in custody.

Steve Barlow, Anderson Kesaka, Wayne Ghemu, Makareta Waqavonovono and Robert Cavanaugh represented the accused.

All lawyers are from the Public Solicitor’s Office.

Prosecuting the case are Mathew Coates and Tearo Walenenea from the Director of Public Prosecution’s Office.
