This came after most of the victims from the province decided to stay back in the last minute due to security reasons.
TRC Chairman Fr Sam Ata said they understand the people’s decision not to come forward.
“Appearance before the hearing is a voluntary decision,” Fr Ata said.
"We don't force people to come. We give opportunity for people to come if they wish to appear before the commissioners and nation," he said.
Fr Sam said for Rennel and Bellona, they have three victims.
But he said the majority came from Savo and Russells.
He said they could not get the number from Russell because of transport difficulty.
The 20 victims have undergone trauma counselling with local counsellor, Martha Horiwapu in the last few days.
Fr Sam said the trauma counselling was going well with all the victims finding healings and relieve.
The hearing starts today and ends tomorrow.
