This came after the last Government did not give the TRC's five million under the development budget due to global financial crisis.
The last Government only supported the TRC through the Commissioners' salaries.
TRC Chairman, Fr Sam Ata said he hopes the new government takes the fore front, leadership and supporting their work.
He said the lack of supports from Government has place a huge challenge on the work of TRC.
"We only have five months to complete their work.
"If there is not government support, we may not complete our work in the remaining months," he said.
Fr Ata said currently the donors like European Union, New Zealand, Australian and UNDP have supported them but did not run the show because it's a local hearing.
He said the legislation is passed by the Members of Parliament in 2008.
"To have an Act which is initiative for short time of 12 months not worthy when you don't see the result of it.
"That's not enough," he said.
Under the TRC, the Commissioners have one years to complete their work.
They started on 15th January 2010 and finish on 15th January 2011.
However, it depends on Prime Minister Danny Philip to extend their terms of reference if he sees it fit.
