A head-on crash by two buses in Papua New Guinea has claimed 38 lives.
Police say the two buses were speeding buses and the accident appears to have occurred when both drivers tried to avoid potholes.
The 25-seater buses were reported to be overloaded when they crashed head-on in the Markham Valley of Morobe Province.
The accident has left 18 people injured.
Serious road accidents are common in PNG due to poor road conditions, dilapidated vehicles and speeding and drunk drivers.--rnzi
