Fiji interim Prime Minister has declined to comment on allegations made in court last week that the mastermind of an assassination plot against him, has escaped punishment.
During the trial in Fiji of the eight men sentenced last week for plotting to murder the country's military backed leader Commodore Frank Bainimarama, High Court Judge, Justice Paul Madigan made it clear he believed Fiji born New Zealand businessman Balu Khan was the ringleader.
But in 2008 Mr Khan was granted a permanent stay of proceedings in the case and left the country.
When asked on New Zealand radio about the allegations made in court, Commodore Bainimarama declined to comment.
"I really don't have any comment," he said.
"The Fiji Police and the DPP's office will be having a look at the issue."
Balu Khan's legal representative says his client has already been acquitted, and will not return to Fiji, if charged again.--radio australia
