A high delegation of government ministers and officials are likely to attend today’s clash between Amical FC of Vanuatu and Koloale FC of Solomon Islands at the Lawson Tama Stadium.

The Solomon Islands football Federation (SIFF) yesterday confirmed that they have given out invitation.

The delegation includes the Head of State, the Governor General Sir Frank Kabui, Prime Minister Danny Philip and government ministers.

SIFF media officer Joseph Boso stated that the reason being for the invitation was because the government for the past O’league matches played, has shown good support for the O’league teams.

Boso went to say that many of the government officials are sports interested people with some football themselves.

“There are government officials who are into sports and are footballers themselves,” he said.

“This is also a reason why we (SIFF) decided to invite them.”

The invitation will give them the opportunity to watch live and witness the match which will showcase some of the Solomon Islands players’ talents.

It will be an interesting match since the Amical team will be displaying the talents of its Solomon Islands very own talents.

The match is set to kick off at 3pm today at the Lawson Tama Stadium
