Maelanga’s cup into quarter

THE 2016 Maelanga’s annual Christmas Cup games is now heading into its quarter final matches after completing some of its pool games on Tuesday.

The games which is held at the Faumamanu School ground is hosted mainly for East Malaita constituency to ensure everyone come together to celebrate the festive season with sport.

The two weeks long competition started on Monday 19th.

Reports reaching Star Sports revealed that 26 teams are participating in the soccer games.

Meanwhile, volleyball competition also enters its quarter final matches as of yesterday.

Teams from ward 15 and 16 are taking part in the competition which features eleven aside soccer and volley ball.

The aim of the game is to bring all youths together to celebrate the festivity (Christmas) in sporting.

And also to ensure youths engage in sports rather than involving in unlawful activities like taking drugs to cause disturbances in the community.

Great prizes plus trophies are up for grab.

The game is organized mainly for sports men and women in East Malaita Constituency to come and enjoy their time together while celebrating the festivity.
