Group B leaders and defending champions, Malaita Eagles will take on Lauru Kuvojo at 1:30pm to determine the second finalist for the 2017 Solomon Cup tournament.

This is the match most fans and supporters are looking forward to.

Kuvojo’s story is quiet interesting and showed how they picked up in each match up until the semi finals.

They lost 4-0 to hosts, Honiara, drew 1-1 with Temotu, defeated Central Shield 7-0 and defeated Guadalcanal 4-1 in their final group match.

Kuvojo coach, Eddie Rukumana said they are aware of the Malaita Eagles toughness.

He said they have monitored where the strengths and weakness of Malaita Eagles and have work on that prior to today’s match.

“We respect Malaita; they are a strong side having made it through a pool of tough contenders.

“We have seen their strength and weakness and worked on these areas accordingly,” Rukumana told local media after their final group match.

Looking at how Kuvojo made their way up, they should not be taken lightly by the Eagles.

Eagles coach, Terry Oiaka is well aware of the threat pose by Kuvojo.

Oiaka will be banking on the smart play by former Hekari player, Clifton Aumae who will orchestrate Eagle’s attack in today’s match.

Coupled up with the speedy flankers and goal hungry strikers, the Eagles will once again be felt as a threat in today’s clash.

Malaita has made a consistent run in their group matches.

They drew two and won two matches.

Their utmost aim is to defend the title as the Solomon Cup champions.
