Dragons Football team skipper and spokesperson Willie Lai has described the club’s fundraising drive at the Jinas Restaurant on Saturday as very successful.

“It was very successful, good turnout in attendance, in the end just as we expected a good amount was raised,” he said.

The motive behind the fundraising drive for the club was to help support the club for its upcoming programs.

“The money raised will cater for the clubs involvement in competitions in the country and also abroad,” team skipper Willie Lai said.

He said there are many programs lined up for the club for this year alone.

The two main events the club has set focus on are the Fiji tour in March and the Gold Coast competition which will be held in November.

He added that since this is the year of the dragon according to the Chinese New Year, the club sees it as a very special year for them.

“The team is aiming big in everything, we are going to put on our very best performances throughout the year and to prove what the dragon spirit is all about,” he said.

The fundraising drive activities include a co-operate dinner night, lucky draws with the support of the Our Telekom.

The co-operate dinner night was attended by various members of parliament and government officials, business houses, companies, football supporters, families and friends.

Mr Lai thanked all who attended that night and made it a successful event.
