Small Malaita began their Christmas celebrations yesterday with the official kick off of the Uweniusu tournament.
Sponsored by Star International the tournament has attracted a total of sixteen soccer teams, eight netball teams and eight volleyball teams.
It is anticipated that the tournament will add memorable highlights for Small Malaita in the lead up to this years Christmas celebrations.
Star Sports was told earlier by the chairman of the local organizing committee Ganet Wate that the tournament is expected to bring youths together to promote culture through sports.
He said during the tournament, awareness talks based on the culture of Small Malaita will be promoted.
