She was amongst the other Oceania countries who will be flag bearers for their countries.
Other Oceania nations are Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga and Vanuatu.
Twenty-five-years-old Solomon Islander shot-putter Hellen Tasaunga is competing in her first Paralympic Games.
She says she is proud and honoured to be the flag bearer of her country.
“I am very proud to be my country’s flag bearer. It’s an honour and will be very memorable,” she reportedly told officials.
The announcement of the flag bearers was done at a special ceremony in front of the Paralympic Agitos at Cardiff City Hall.
Other Pacific flag bearers are Iliesa Delana (Fiji), Francis Kompaon (PNG), Milo Toleafoa (Samoa), Hellen Tasaunga (Solomon Islands), Aloalo Liku (Tonga) and Marcel Houssimoli (Vanuatu).
Flag bearer to his country for the second time, Francis Kompaon says it was an “amazing feeling” to be told he would lead Papua New Guinea’s athletes out.
Francis won Papua New Guinea’s first ever Olympic or Paralympic medal when he took silver in the Paralympic men’s 100 metres in the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
