Solomon Warriors, the reign Solomon Islands 2012/2013 club champions is facing a tight lip in its preparations for the upcoming O-league as groups and fixtures are unveiled.
Going against his neighbouring Melanesian brothers will be a tough challenge as they all battle it out in the group B.
Solomon Warriors is placed in the group B along with BA FC of Fiji, Hekari FC of Papua New Guinea and Amicale of Vanuatu.
Whilst in group A consists of Auckland City of New Zealand, AS Mont-Dore, AS Dragon and Waitakere United of New Zealand.
The Solomon Warriors open their O-league debut against Amicale FC on the March 30th 2013 at Lawson Tama.
Speaking to Star Sports Warriors team Manager Dr. Kenton Sade said by the look of the grouping it may seem challenging seeing most of the teams in there are well vested with O-league.
More so they have produced good records several times in the O-league such as Hekari, Amicale and BA FC.
But that does not put Warriors out of the competition as a new comer rather we will not take it lightly but seriously, he said.
“Like the past success of those teams, Warriors too would like to carry the Solomon Islands flag as ambassadors representing our country.”
Sade said: "plans are well intact and with that we will make all possible means and be competitive on that level.
“We do acknowledge the fact that all teams are well prepared likewise Warriors has no exception in proving itself as the champion of Solomon Islands.”
He said with the new format making way for home and away matches would be an advantage, where Warriors will count on to make good use of.
“We are determining to give the best of Warriors both home and away, and we are urging the pubic and soccer fans in the country to come out support the team.”
