The confirmed date for the elections is on February 2.
This was revealed during a NOCSI meeting held yesterday.
The decision to defer the date for the next 14 days was due to some pending decisions as to which of the 14 member federations out of the 21 national sports federations are eligible to vote during the elections.
It was announced yesterday that out of 21 sports who are affiliated to NOCSI, only 14 are recognized as affiliated members to their respective International Federations.
Reports reaching Star Sport yesterday say an update of the response from ONOC from previous matters discussed from the first AGM session was also presented during the meeting.
Yesterday’s meeting was treated as an ordinary monthly meeting to discuss normal NOCSI business and update federations on programs for this year and update on the constitution based on reports from IOC.
NOCSI has recently been in close contact with ONOC and IOC regarding the finalization of the NOCSI Constitution.
ONOC has also confirmed they have reviewed the draft constitution of NOCSI which was submitted by NOCSI on November 28 last year.
A meeting is scheduled for Thursday for the adoption of the new constitution; it will be followed by a special meeting of election of new office bearers.
Nomination forms have been sent to federations and are expected to be filled and returned before Friday when the nominations close.
Unconfirmed reports reaching Star Sports say the Oceania National Olympic Committee (ONOC) Secretary General Ricardo Blas might be present to oversee the election.
