According to a written statement from the committee, in order to ensure the smooth organization of the Games and in line with the Games Charter, the Games Council has to be elected first elected.
Therefore the Member of Parliament for Small Malaita, Rick Hou is therefore convening a public meeting this weekend to address this important first step.
The meeting is for all sports men and women, and all representatives of sports clubs in Small Malaita including any other community leaders who are interested in the Games.
The meeting is scheduled to start at 2pm tomorrow at the National Referral Hospital conference room.
The Small Malaita mini games is a sports tournament which gathers all sporting men and women in Small Malaita constituency.
Since its inception in the late 70s, the tournament had become an annual event when communities in the constituency take turn to host the event.
The Games include sports such as soccer, netball, volleyball to name a few.
Since 2006 the Games had not been convened because there were no offers to host the event.
As a positive step to revive the event, Sa’a community in Small Malaita has positively responded and accepted to host this year’s event.
