The Men’s Open Grade touch rugby knock-outs kicked off with some intense rugby action yesterday at the Rove sports ground.
With the perfect weather setting, the Men’s teams from around Honiara city show cased some quality passing and pace on the field.
Fans and supporters turned up to witness some of the early action set for this year’s Namson Tran Touch Rugby Competition.
Rove players once again turned up in numbers and made sure they got their first win against Real Naha in the first match of the afternoon scoring 4 points to 1.
The highest score of the day was between touch team Frigates and Head bangers with Frigates running in 8 points to 2 to take the game.
Organizers of the Namson Tran sponsored competition are now working through the results of yesterday’s knock-outs to determine the pools for the first round of the competition for this year.
The draws should be ready any time this week.
