The much awaited DJ Graphics beach soccer code 'Red' tournament will eventually kick off this today at DC Park.
At the close of registration day on Wednesday eight teams have confirmed their participation who will now do battle again on the sandy stretch of Second World War¡¯s famous Red Beach.
The confirmed teams are; White Kovara, Koloale FC, Sokamora, Beach Boys Blue, Beach Boys White, Barik Boys, KOSSA FC and DJ Graphics.
The teams were drawn into two pools of four teams.
In Pool A are Barik Boys, Koloale FC, Beach Boys Blue and Sokamora.
In Pool B are KOSSA FC, Beach Boys White, White Kovara and DJ Graphics.
Pool A matches will kick off today starting at 11.00 a.m.
While the second pool will be played tomorrow resuming on the same hour.
On Sunday the matches are expected to intensify as winners and the runner-ups from each pool will proceed to the semifinals and the finals.
The public have been urged to visit the beach competition today and tommorrow.
The competition expects to display raw talents and an entertaining time for fans.
The winner gets to celebrate away with $4, 000 cash, second prize $2,000 voucher and third prize $1,200 voucher.
Prizes will also be awarded for the best team spirit and golden boot during the competition.
Besides these, each player will be given a t-shirt of the team colour and an opportunity to be selected into the Honiara Beach Soccer Squad.
If you are thinking food and entertainment it will also be provided throughout the competition day.
"Food and drink stall and entertainment will be provided and especially on Sunday there will be an opportunity for families to plan an outing there to watch the finals and sample the beach soccer BBQ.
"All in aid of the development of beach soccer in Solomon Islands," the organisers.
So if you don't have any where to spend your weekend, then DC park is inviting all the beach lovers to head east ward out of the City for some action match on the beaches.
