Beach soccer fever heats up

A total of 11 teams have registered their teams to participate in the Our Telekom National Beach Soccer Championship. 

The teams are as follows:

Malaita Football Association – 2 teams
Makira Ulawa Football Association – 2 teams
Renbel Football Association – 2 Teams
Honiara Football Association – 1 team
Western Football Association – 1 team
Isabel Football Association – 1 team
Temotu Football Association – 1 team
Central Islands Football Association – 1 team

The venue for the Our Telekom National Beach Soccer Championship is the DC Park Beach Soccer Pitch owned by DJ Graphics Ltd. 

Work is continuing on preparing the venue for the competition. 

The tournament will start at 9:00am on Wednesday 28th April, 2010. The final matches will be played on Saturday 1st May, 2010. 

The opening ceremony will be held on Tuesday 27th April, 2010 at the SIFF Academy. 

The parade will start from the Our Telekom Recreational Centre at 10:00am and end at the SIFF Academy where a formal ceremony will ensue. 

Meanwhile, a technical meeting for all the participating teams will be held on Monday 26th April, 2010 at the SIFF Academy Conference Room. 

The meeting will start at 3:00pm.

All teams are advised to send 2 representatives to the meeting; a team manager and a coach. 

Teams are also advised to bring samples of their uniforms to the Technical Meeting.

All teams will be required to have ID tags or they will not be able to access the competition venue. 

Therefore, all teams are advised to take note of the times for photo sessions for the ID tags. The details are as follows:

 This Saturday at 11am – 3pm, the following teams will have their photo's taken

Isabel 
Honiara
Temotu
Central

Then on Sunday 25th April 11am – 3pm 

Western
Renbel
Malaita
Makira/Ulawa

The photo session will take place at the SIFF Academy.

The registration deadline for teams has been extended to Sunday 25th April. 2010. All teams are expected to pay their fees by this deadline. Teams who do not comply will not be allowed to participate in the championship.

All teams are advised to seek formal letters of endorsement from their respective Provincial Football Associations (PFAs). The letter will indicate that you are (a) official representative side(s) of the PFA in question. 

Your registration may be voided if the endorsement letter from the PFA is not submitted to the SIFF office.
