SOLOMON Islands Amateur Boxing Association is calling on its provincial associations to submit their athlete names and weight category to SIABA.
Provincial associations are urged to submit names of their boxers to Secretary Francis Haisoma or SIABA president Patrick Morris on 23484.
This is to get them prepare all the paper work for the upcoming Solomon Games in Auki, Malaita next month.
Meanwhile, Provincial sport coordinators who do not have a provincial boxing team are also urged to contact SIABA to confirm their participation.
SIABA president Patrick Morris said Short lands and Wagina will have free entry to participate in the Solomon game.
Morris said the competition will be played in 11 weight categories that were listed below.
Light flyweight 46kg – 49kg
Light Flyweight 49kg – 51kg
Bantam weight 51kg – 54kg
Feather weight 54kg – 57kg
Light weight 57kg – 60kg
Light Welterweight 60kg – 64kg
Walter weight 64kg – 69kg
Middle weight 69kg – 75kg
Light Heavyweight 75kg – 81kg
Heavy weight 81kg – 91kg
Super Heavyweight 91kg plus
Morris said the tournament would also be used to select boxers for the Pacific Games in Noumea, New Caledonia in 2011.
He said this would be the first time ever for SIABA to host the Pacific Games selection outside the capital.
The boxing competition will be held at the Malaita motel.
