The newly formed team were lost with words as Tavanipupu Resort stepped in and sponsored the shoes and balls all the way from New Zealand.
The resort’s representative Kody Lett when presenting the gifts to the team said that they were happy to assist the team and they were always willing to help develop sports.
“On behalf of the Tavanipupu Resort we are happy and willing to sponsor these young upcoming talented players to boost the morale of rugby in the Solomon Islands”, Lett said.
Team captain Simon Tepuke when responding said that the sponsorship was timely as some of the players were having difficulties with shoes.
He added that his boys were very thankful and the sponsorship would boost his team’s performance in the rugby union league.
“Such sponsorship is really appreciated and it will surely lift our team spirit for this season”, Tepuke said.
Meanwhile, Tepuke on behalf of the Tama’ine rugby team thanked the Tavanipupu Resort for their kind assistance.
”We are looking forward to push our way up in the league it is good now that we have new shoes and balls to train with”, Tepuke added.
Taimaine rugby club have already won their first match against big guns SOSA 24-0 and are looking to make the presence felt in all their matches.
The team’s next challenge would be against Matangiki club one of the most respected rugby clubs in the country.
