The much talk about event has hit a break wall after a poor turn out by teams and players.
Honiara Softball and Baseball sports development officer Inuoe Sakae confirmed to star sports yesterday because of the poor turn out the competition was called off.
“We waited in the morning until afternoon but only less than twenty people turned up, so we decided to call the competition off”, Sakae said.
She added that they would only concentrate the pre-season matches and the league.
“We are hoping that schools in Honiara will take part in the league”, Sakae said.
Currently only 7 teams are registered for the league, interested schools who wish to take part are urged to register to increase the number of teams and also make it more competitive.
Meanwhile, the Honiara Baseball and Softball Federation will resume their pre matches season this Sunday 11th of July 2010.
The season has been postponed because of the Solomon Games.
