The Oceania U18 and Open Championship will be held on September 23rd to 25th in the city of Cairns, north Queensland, Australia.
The training squad was released yesterday by Athletic Solomons, Vice-President Paul Kori that it will consist of athletes U18, picked out from the recent Solomon Games in Auki.
But according to Kori Oceania Athletic Association only gave them a quota of eight and means only seven athletes and one coach will make it to the championship.
So the selection process will be very tough as athletes will be expected to produce better result of what they have achieved in Auki inorder to make it, in the final team to Cairns.
But as you can see most of the athletes identified are female athletes in the middle and long distance events.
But we also gave opportunities for athletes in other events like sprints and jumps to be included in the training squad as well.
The athletes are currently doing their training in their respective Provinces, Like Malaita, Central, Guadalcanal and Honiara.
