FORMER Hekari United striker Alick Maemae was again brought to limelight as O’ League representative Koloale FC is looking to lure him to join them for the O’ League season next month.

The Koloale FC management confirmed to star sport yesterday that they are interested in signing up the lanky midfielder.

Maemae has been making headlines in recent weeks after he walked off the Hekari camp recently for unknown reasons.

Dubbed as ‘Mr Cool’ in Papua New Guinea, Maemae recently travelled back to PNG but returned to the country a few weeks ago.

Although, the Hekari United camp brushed aside claims that he was not returning to Port Moresby.

Sources close to Maemae said that the star striker was not planning to return to join Hekari.

Yesterday Koloale FC’s vice-president Timothy Aruafu confirmed to star sport that the club is willing to take Maemae onboard.

He said although the club was yet to make contact and arrangements with him, they were adamant of signing him.

“The club is interested in Maemae. He is a quality player and he will blend in well with the boys”, Aruafu said.

Maemae’s inclusion will see a major boost to the Koloale attacking force with the likes of Benjamin Totori, Ezra Sale, Ian Paia and Joses Nawo already causing damage for the Bonito’s in their friendly matches.

Attempts to talk to Maemae were unsuccessful as he is reportedly in Temotu province with his family.

Meanwhile, the departure of Maemae from Hekari United has forced Hekari United to sign two new Fijian players.

They are Fiji national player and Lautoka striker Osea Vakatalesau and Malakai Tiwa.

Both already arrived in Port Moresby over the weekend.

The signing of the two Fijians brings the number of Fijians playing for Hekari to five with Pita Bolaitoga, Tuimasi Manuca and Alvin Singh already with the team.

Hekari is reportedly recruiting players to strengthen their line-up for the upcoming World Club Championships in Dubai and also eyeing to defend their O’League title.
