PORT MORESBY, (POST COURIER) - The Papua New Guinea Football Association secretariat would have been informed if the president David Chung had resigned from the post, which should be the case.
To date the secretariat office has not received any such correspondence, said general secretary Dimirit Mileng.
“The President is away on official FIFA business, however he has informed the secretariat office that for transparency and accountability on his part, he has stepped aside and will not be involved with any matters relating to administration and congress.
“All administrative and congress matters relating to the organization will be the responsibility of the secretariat office through the General Secretary.
“The Emergency Executive Committee, headed by the Senior Vice President will deal with any policy issues if there is a need to do so.
“We would like to inform all our partners and stakeholders that the operation of the organization is still in operation leading to the Congress on December 28 in Kimbe.
“We had couple of enquires, regarding a news item on Monday evening on EM-TV news and it’s On-line news coverage as well. “This has all been misleading,” Mileng added.
