The former national sevens skipper said while they knew it would be tough they had a plan in place to bring back glory from Dubai.
Fiji's
last win in Dubai was in 1998.
A
confident Dere said they had in the current team the calibre of players needed
to win a tournament in the IRB Series.
"We
have selected the best and we believe these boys will go and do the job wanted
from them in Dubai and South Africa," Dere said.
"These
players have proven themselves and we need to give them the opportunity to show
their talents in the IRB Series."
"We
have identified areas that we need to work on and we will be working on it in
the days leading up to the tournament," Dere said.
The 12-member Digicel sevens team moved to Nadi on Sunday and had a training session at Prince Charles Park Monday.
