SUVA (FIJITIMES) FORMER Minister for Youth and Sports, Rajesh Singh says Fiji Football Association president Dr Sahu Khan should resign.
Singh said Khan should give chance to people who can take Fiji FA to the next level.
"Without vision, people perish," he said.
"I felt so bad when I read about the Fiji FA awards night. Fiji FA should change all its board members because we haven't qualified for a World Cup in all these years.
"Doc (Khan) and his team should step down now." Singh said a clear reflection of soccer's poor state of affairs was New Zealand's progress into this year's World Cup.
He said Soccer New Zealand spent $1m and earned $8m after qualifying for the World Cup.
"I take my hat off to Anil Sharma, Abdul Mannan and Abdul Shah for speaking out," he added. "I have no personal grudge but it's time we say thanks to Doc and his board, tell them to step down for the love of the game."
Singh was national Under-20 team manager when Gurjit Singh was coach from 1998-2000.
"I love soccer. I played the game, coached and managed teams as well."
He said the way forward was to put the national team into Australia's A-League or the main New Zealand competition.
"Then we will progress. We have to bring in former Fiji captains and players to lead Fiji FA.
"I have a dream to take Fiji to the World Cup and I'm willing to assist Fiji FA anytime as long as I have Gurjit (Singh) as coach, Anil (Sharma) as team director and people like Rishi Kumar, Mannan, Abdul Shah, Raymond Stoddart and Tagi Vonolagi as officials.
"Let's all soccer fans and district officials unite and tell Fiji FA enough is enough," Singh said. Khan refused to comment yesterday saying he was busy.
