SUVA (FIJITMES) NATIONAL team defender Esava Naqeleca's Spirit 08 is one of the five clubs in the race to represent Vanuatu in the 2010-2011 O-League.
Suva utility Naqeleca has been a regular for the Juan Carlos Buzzetti-coached side since joining the Port Vila club in January.
"I'm really enjoying playing in Vila. Football here is fast and I'm loving it," the 21-year-old said.
"I've played in all the games since I've been here. I haven't got the chance to play up front. I'm controlling from behind in defence which has seen our team win some crucial games.
"I'm pretty fit and focused at the moment and on top of my game."
"My team is doing really well," he said.
Naqeleca's team is on third spot in the Port Vila League and drew its last game with Tafea 1-1.
The former national U20 team captain said club commitments may force him to miss out on playing in the Fiji FACT.
"During the Fiji FACT, I have club commitments so it may be a little difficult to say that I can come over. It's a wait-and-see game but if I get the opportunity then I will see.
"At the moment, I'm not thinking too much about when I will be back home and which team I will play for," Naqeleca said.
He played down claims by a Suva vice-president that the utility player would join Labasa upon his return. "This is the first time I'm hearing that I might play for Labasa," Naqeleca said.
"I've not heard from anyone regarding playing for Labasa so at this stage it's just a rumour."
The youngster featured strongly in Fiji's 2-0 win over New Zealand during the 2008 World Cup qualifier and has also played for national U17 and U23 teams.
Former Suva midfielder and Vanuatu international Seimata Chillia also plays for the club.
