This deadly disease is silently attacking many lives.
Innocent lives such as children have also been victim.
Imagine how would you feel if members of your entire family is being infected by this disease.
This would be a sad tale indeed.
Unfortunately there are many families around the world who are like this.
There are also millions of children who lost their parents because of this disease.
Lets not make our island nation like this.
With a population of just over half a million, we must protect our citizens now. We cannot afford to lose many of our people.
Last week two confirmed cases were announced making up the tally to 15 cases.
But this figure may just be the tip of many more cases which still remains undetected out there.
As the country expands so as our vulnerability given the many changes we have experience these days.
A lot of people know the dangers of HIV but are ignorant about it.
Today the bulk of our country`s population are youths.
They are active and socialize group of people but sometimes ignorant about their own health.
Many of our youths today engage unlawful social activities such as drugs, alcohol, prostitution and many more.
Given that scenario, they are most vulnerable if they are not careful nor control the way they behave or socialize.
The country had been warned time and time again of this deadly disease.
Our health people have continued to remind this nation through awareness about the simple rule to protect ones-self when engaging in unsafe sex.
Stick to one partner is another golden rule.
But today we have so many people having more than one partner.
You never know he or she might be a HIV carrier.
He/she might look good on the outside but inside its sick.
Its important all of us must take precaution and not to be deceived by the looks.
Respecting yourself and your body is very important.
Given the trend of rapid spread sexually transmitted disease (STI) in the country, our greatest fear is that more HIV carriers might be out there.
Its important to get checked today for the benefit of your health.
The sooner you know your statues the chances you would get treatment and live a normal life.
Protect yourselves today and help reduce the spread of HIV in our country and communities.
