WE join others to wish our valued readers, advertisers, and the good people of our beloved country the best for this Christmas.

This festive season is a time individuals and families should be taking stock of their lives and their relationship with each other.

As a nation, it’s also a season we should be seriously looking into the current peace process the Government is spearheading.

We should be asking:

Is the peace process going in the right direction? How far have we gone with the process? What are the stumbling blocks to the process that are preventing us from going further? Are we engaging the right people? What should we achieve in the New Year?

Christmas is a time of peace and self-assessment.

It is a time to make amends, reunite, and embrace one another.

Jesus, whom Christmas represents, is a peace-maker.

When God sent His Son into this world, His prime purpose is to reconcile the fallen world to his Kingdom.

Reconciliation is a vital ingredient to achieving peace. Simply put, we cannot achieve peace without first reconciling our differences.

It’s more than six years since the end of what many called the “ethnic tension”.

This sad and painful period in the history of our beloved nation had caused so much damage.

The truth is many will never forget the terrible pain and loss they’ve suffered as a result of the ethnic tension.

That is understandable.

But let’s take this Christmas to reflect on God’s love for us, which he demonstrated through the birth and death of his Son.

Let’s invite the peace-maker into our lives and homes so that we could experience the true meaning of Christmas.
