Foreign Investors

DEAR EDITOR – I think the latest report on around a hundred foreign investors who failed to live up to their state obligations is deplorable and must be condemned at the highest order as well.

Folks, don‘t they deserve to be scrutinised? I for one wouldn’t want the state to allow them to escape with their business bad behaviors?

It’s a fact that we need foreign investors to help boost our failed economy but the way they are going about doing business is questionable.

Are they here to help our dwindling economy or are they here to rob us even further.

It shows that we do have on our hands a hand full of foreign dishonest investors and the public has turned blind eyes to those injustices.

Do we wait until a local attack one of them before we shout out loud with all kinds of condemnations?

If they intentionally ignored our rules and regulations and our laws governing their business activities, then the right authorities must do something about them.

They must not be allowed to mock our laws. The public should call on the responsible authorities to do something quickly before some of them disappear somewhere else.

Those were the kinds of issues the Malaita Ma’asina Forum has been warning Solomon Islanders about when that Foreign Investment Bill was introduced.

No body took notice about it then, and here we are, reaping the consequences of those foolish puppet Politicians’ decisions.

Folks, if the current regime can’t control the influx of scrupulous foreigner investors, how much more can they be over our rich natural resources?

Is this new business tactics nowadays? Too late to cry over spilt milk? So what is the bottom line ordinary Solomon Islanders?

Vote CNURA out and vote in a new government who will feel sorry for us the ordinary?
