DEAR EDITOR – I would like to bring to the attention of the public and the interested readers, a theme which I would like to call, "Let My People Go".
I believe as we approach Christmas and the coming New Year 2010, we as a nation need to recheck our position and situation.
Solomon Islands is a developing nation and it needs a deliverer like Moshe (Moses).
We need to be delivered from poverty, the financial crises, the economic crisis, corruption, stupid politicking, illiteracy, ignorance, the climate change crisis and a whole lot of challenges which are weighing us down.
The theme, 'Let my people go', is taken from the ancient writings of the Prophet Moshe in the Book of Exodus.
Exodus 5: 1 and 2,"And afterwards Moshe and Aharon went in, and told Par'o, Thus says the LORD GOD of Yisra'el, Let my people go, that they may hold a feast to me in the wilderness. And Par'o said, Who is the LORD, that I should obey his voice to let Yisra'el go?
“I know not the LORD, nor will I let Yisra'el go.' (Version Jerusalem Bible).
Please, relax and feel comfortable while you take your precious time to read this article.
It will bless you greatly after you are finished with it.
We shall now begin to do some analysis regarding the aforementioned text. Firstly, let us highlight the following:
(1) Moshe and Aharon (Moses and Aaron) went directly to the Paro ( Pharoah) of Egypt and placed before him Yahweh's words of deliverance, 'Let my people go'.
(2) The people of Yisra'el were to go to hold a feast (time of worship) to Yahweh.
(3) They were told to go through a wilderness (desert).
(4) Paro answered Moshe and Aharon by saying that he did not know their God Yahweh.
(5) Paro decided immediately and directly before Moshe and Aharon that he would not let Yisra'el go.
Discussion of text:
History had revealed time and time again that, Yahweh God would often raise up a Moshe (Moses) during times of extreme difficulties for the purpose of bringing salvation/ deliverance to his people.
Christmas is a sure example of this deliverer. Christ Jesus is the final deliverer who had been prophesied in the Bible to bring the message of salvation to the world.
The meaning of Jesus is that he would save his people (Yisra'el and the Gentiles) from their sins.
However, we would also like to bring this to suit our Solomon Islands situation. We need a deliverer to save Solomon Islands from sin, poverty and the economic crisis.
The deliverer has to be from the school of Yeshua Kristos ( Jesus Christ) in order for him to perform such a deliverance.
He must be trained in the royal school of his master Yeshua in order that he may boldly approach Paro ( the devil who is the ruler of the kingdom of darkness) to liberate Solomon Islands from slavery.
Whether you believe it or not, poverty and poor development is an outward sign of the rule of Paro (Pharoah).
One of Paro's ministries is the Ministry of Slavery. It is a secret Ministry.
It has a network which controls every thing from the unborn child to the old man. It controls our progress and does not want people to develop to the best that they could be.
The sole aim of the Slave ministry is to use people to serve his dark kingdom and in the end destroy them for the service which they have offered. The salary is paid in the currency called, 'death'.
Solomon Islands needs to be alert to discern this impending tragedy so that it may be averted.
'Let my people go', is a four worded statement, very ancient in text but is still the most moving and revolutionary statement any deliverer could declare in front of any ruler or monarch.
The interpretation of the statement, 'Let my people go', could be equally stated as follows:
(1) We desire a new beginning.
(2) We desire change from slavery to freedom.
(3) We desire a change of authority.
(4) We desire economic change.
(5) We desire financial prosperity.
(6) We desire an end to poverty.
(7) We desire an end to the old order of things.
(8) We desire to establish a separate country of our own ( the Promise land of Canaan).
(9) We desire to have freedom to serve and to worship Yahweh God in the desert.
It is the place of testing. You pass and God promotes.
(10) We desire to be a royal kingdom of priests to serve Yahweh and to declare his glory in all the earth.
The deliverer Moshe was called from a desert situation (the Burning Bush experience).
He knew how to live in the desert. He had experienced hard and difficult times.
Yahweh God appeared to him when he was at his lowest. He was slow of speech, he was a shepherd, poor and of a low class.
His clothes were covered with desert sand and dust, torn from desert work keeping his father-in-law's sheep. His only tool was a shepherd's walking stick or rod.
The truth of the matter was that, although a nobody in the desert, his heart was of
royalty.
He was raised and groomed in the royal palace of the king of Egypt.
In other words, he knew how to behave in front of royalty. He was not ignorant of royal rules and etiquette.
The problem with Paro ( Pharoah) was that he did not know the God of Yisra'el and as a result he would not let them leave his kingdom.
He wanted to continue to enslave them keeping them busy building up 'sand castles and the fragile empire of Egypt'.
And Par'o said, Who is the LORD, that I should obey his voice to let Yisra'el go? I know not the LORD, nor will I let Yisra'el go.'
Lesson to learn:
The weakness and difficulty with our Solomon Islands leadership quality is that most of us or Pharoahs do not know our Creator Yahweh God personally to the extent that we have a daily relationship with Him.
This is for all of us.
Instead we have other relationships with Miss Beery, Mrs Solbrewy, Mrs Fastmoney, Miss Pleasurey, Mrs Do-wrongie, Miss Corrupty,Miss Immorality, Mrs Jezebel and a whole lot more missus'.
Yahweh God is the Most Holiest, Highest and Sovereign Ruler of the Universe and yet we do not fully know him to carry out our God given duties.
We are all acccountable to Yahweh, whether we work in the private, sector, the government sector or be an ordinary poor folk in a rural village.
The following could be summed up with regard to this teaching and discussion:
(1) He who fears Yahweh God will be blessed/anointed with God's wisdom to lead and to rule wisely and justly.
(2) He who has a personal encounter with Yahweh God like Moshe will have the authority to liberate the nation of Solomon Islands and its people to economic and spiritual freedom.
(3) Paro (Pharoah) could not perform a divine calling effectively only a Moshe (Moses) could.
Paro (Pharoah) represents the old inefficient and ineffective order.Moshe (Moses) has been refined under the 'burning fire' of Yahweh God. He represents a new beginning for Solomon Islands to move it into economic and spiritual prosperity.
The question to ask now is, ' Is Moshe the deliverer among us now?'
To answer the question is to ask another one, 'Are you prepared to become a Moshe'?
Well, if yes, the starting point (campaign for election) is to put off those old shoes for the task before us will be holy unto Yahweh.
It is no ordinary task but to be done in an ordinary setting for the restoration of his people Yisra'el (Solomon Islanders).
Solomon Islands, provinces, communities, villages, leaders and common people (both rich and poor), lift up your heads and look one more time to the Sovereign ruler of the Universe, Yahweh God.
He alone will deliver us from being slaves, from being a third world country, from being 'experienced beggars' to real liberated islanders whom God had chosen even before the foundation of the world.
Yahweh God desires Solomon Islanders to be free physically and spiritually, to be liberated economically and god fearing.
To be free not in the sense of earthly meanings alone but to be free in the sense of the words of Yeshua himself, 'If the Son shall make you free, you shall be free indeed'.
May we worship Yahweh God this Christmas and declare his glory from the the east to the west from the north to the south.
From Temotu Province all the way to Shortland Islands.
May God continue to make us realize that Pharoah is not our ruler.
We need a deliverer like Moshe.
With our hearts, we would like to show a gesture of support by declaring our approval in words from some of the following local dialects:
In pidgin we say, Gud tumas. In Guale we say, Doku poa. In Gela we say, Uto Nga ngata. In Western Province we say, Lea na hola. In Isabel we say, Keli fara. In Central Malaita we say, Lea liu.
The rest of provinces and other dialects are also included. Say it if you wish.
May God bless Solomon Islands from shore to shore and deliver us into a prosperous 2010 AD.
Amen.
