Criminal act against the Vollbraths

E-mail Print

DEAR EDITOR – Having acquired knowledge from your paper dated 27 January 2010 and 28 January 2010 on the alleged criminal act caused to Betty Vollbrath, it prompted me to share and express not only my deep concern but to convey the most urgent action that I believe authorities should now do to save future lives and community social break-down.

First I share sympathy with the Vollbrath family and condemned in the strongest term not only to the terrible act that was done to their mother but indeed an act of stupidity, cowardice, and greed by those criminal actors.

I guess a person in his or her right mind would not dare favour such a criminal act committed to Betty Vollbrath neither the family tribe nor the province those criminal actors were coming from especially that once we gauge the Vollbrath’s contribution to the country’s economy, the Vollbrath had contributed and committed a lot including the education sector to Solomon Islands.

This is my big and deep concern. Slightly due to the closing of her shop at Chinatown affected parents for the purchase of school uniforms.

Having weigh those economical contribution and commitment by the Vollbrath family to SI and I guess just like any family as such in SI, authorities should figure now what kind and form of approach should be taken to arrest this criminal act and the elements that give rise to.

In fact the urgent and most important line of thinking now is that this criminal act is now a threat to the genuineness of business in SI particularly Honiara as clearly mentioned by all.

Hence rather than just specifically making a responsive approach in arresting what that had already been occurred either through investigation or such like – which must happened, there is no time now to think and talk over questions like why does this happened.

This then only leave with the shared option for authorities that could get rid of the presence of criminal elements that entertain such an act.

There may be heaps of them of which may not happened over night.

However, the most priority one amongst those others where readers could contribute is for the police both Central and City Council to start stripping off the dark tints to both private and public vehicle users and owners using your State monopoly power.

In that if we could do it well with the betel nut vendors and kwaso makers, I see no difficulty with the TINTS – an constituted element to crime.

Can the Mayor of the City Council and the Commissioner of Police now look into this option and address in order to alleviate this element of crime and as well call on the Mothers of the Civil Society and good citizens of SI for a back-up?

In fact we cannot tolerate such an act whether be a Makiran, Isabellean, Temotuan, Choisuellese, Malaitan, Guadalcanalese, and Centralese.

Our SI must remain a Solomon Island – which is a union of Islands.

God Bless Solomon Islands.
