DEAR EDITOR – I ready an article on the above topic by K. Osifelo in one of your previous issues.
This really captured my interest and decided to share my thoughts (general view) regarding its nature and caution about the impacts this could bring if it is to be ushered in to our societies and the world.
With due respect to the critics view over its authenticity it is important that we give it some thoughts for consideration that in some ways not bad for information sharing (educational) purposes after all.
And I strongly felt that in this modern age issues of such nature are vital given the transpiring evidences from today’s happenings that would of course affect each one’s choices and the kind of decision making one has to make as a result of that.
Now what is Sunday Law actually?
Briefly it is believed to be a kind of law that will propagate more fully the observance of Sunday in the end times just prior to the second advent of Christ.
And it is further believed that it will be enforced against the consciences of men in the entire world by instigators of that law as has been predicted in bible prophecy.
The following is one of bible chapters that give us some clues about this, “And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads…” Rev 13: 16.
In the previous verse it says, “…and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.” Rev 13: 15.
There come a time and may not be long that this prophecy of scripture is going to be fulfilled just exactly as it is told.
May be in future when we have the chance we can look at this issue in more detail in relation to the bible prophecies and history.
But for now, I’d like you to look back and reconsider how we came this far for instance as a people (or even as an individual), or as a nation, or as a Church group or religion for that matter.
Review the history of many of God’s faithful servants who have gone before us or, who have faced up with similar circumstance in life and learn from their experience; the struggle of the past to the present.
I give you an illustration to this consider the reasons for the Pilgrims deadliest voyages across the vast oceans that divided the Old world (Europe) from the New World (America) at the expense of their life in search for freedom and security.
They longed to express their conviction of God without the heavy handed restrictions imposed on them in a land where there is freedom.
And they finally paid for their struggle and faith in the land of America.
What has become of America now is up to individual’s interest to look at but reemphasized again the fact that our past history bears lessons of grave importance for our future (destiny) that we sometimes not realized.
Magnitude of such global phenomenon can be very challenging for all of us (if it’s going to happen) such that man has to be vigilant of and can redirect our thinking by placing our hopes and trust in the hand of the divine that no human authority can limit.
Restricting our rights and freedom is indeed a matter that needs the attention of everybody in all societies and works of life.
