DEAR EDITOR – This is in response to the Solomon Star editorial on 6/2/2010, for which Autonomous Solomon Islanders Party’s position is stated as follow:
1. In the recently launched election manifesto, there is a schedule forming part of it. It is a diagram purporting the RESOURCE ALLOCATION AND DISTRIBUTION ORDER.
This attributes the party’s desirous intention that all resources provided by donors and government must be far-reaching to the Solomon Islands. This therefore applies to RCDF, Livelihood Fund and you name it.
2. By the same manner of this belief Autonomous Solomon Islanders Party strongly advocates a change to the Governance system in this country.
In the ASIP context, GOVERNANCE means the procedures, the system, the rules, the policies the orders, the instructions and to an extent the laws, applied to govern and administer both the development and services in Solomon Islands.
For ASIP, the current Governance system has too many red tapes in its mechanics.
The party therefore appeals for its replacement with a system that would ensure the free and orderly passage of aid assistance and resourcing from donors and government to the farmers, fishermen, businessmen, women, youth, churches and the people of Solomon Islands.
Long Live Solomon Islanders, God bless Solomon Islands.
