Congratulations Star and Police

E-mail Print

DEAR EDITOR – I would like to salute and congratulate the Solomon Star firstly for publishing the timely article on the abuse that women in Solomon Islands suffer silently in their own homes at the hands of their husbands.

The article in the paper was well written and timely in line with Madame Grace Kabui ‘s keynote address on the International Women’s Day on Monday that  – women are still suffering abuse right in their homes.

I would like the Solomon Star to put an article in the paper to congratulate Police Office Robert Taasi at the Central Police Station for being very professional in handling Rosemary Nunua’s complaint on Monday.

This is a display of professionalism and kindness that should encourage women to come forward and report cases of abuse to the Police.

The Police are there to help women and with the professionalism that Robert Taasi has shown the victim tells a lot about the care that is given to the public especially women in such delicate and sensitive issues.

Officer Robert Taasi must be congratulated for a professional job well done. Robert Taasi you are a credit to the office of the Police and your duty to uphold the law and to protect the citizens of this country.

Thank you once again Solomon Star and a job well done.
