DEAR EDITOR – I wish to briefly comment on the above especially in Gua’s recent response to one Freeman Deo, which appeared in your issue a few days ago.
I think from Mr Gua’s reply one thing is clear, that he is one frustrated person who uses the media to bark unconstructively.
Many of his arguments do not make any sense, yet he qualifies himself to label others unconstructive.
If I were to find a person who has been arguing unconstructively on the issue of “PM Lie” then it has to be none other than Gua himself.
Lack of constructivism was the reason why you chose to use ‘character assassination’ tactics to respond to Dr Transform Aqorau.
Dr Aqorau has raised some very important issues for us Malaitans to dwell upon.
His points were valid and should be acknowledged as food for thought, pointing to the right direction.
Yet Mr Gua’s response to him greatly lacked depth and was indeed a broad daylight effort to character assassinate Dr Aqorau, a well respected and qualified figure not only in Solomon Islands but the region as a whole.
Mr Gua, these were your words: “Dr Transform Aqorau, your respond to Mr Daukalia and me was that you stand by what you wrote which is to me, perfectly highlighting your proudness but blinded to see that there are thousands, who have the same qualification like you, but the difference is, in practical, they are far better than you. You are too proud and greedy ...” How can you possible think that this is not character assassination?
Further, as a Malaitan I am indeed startled by your recent revelation that your response was sanctioned by Ma’asina Forum Executive because your response was a cheap shot and does not reflect well of the organisation you represent.
Mr Gua, I think you are a very idealistic person with many rich but impractical ideas as shown by your continuous barking in the media with articles that represent none other than yourself and Ma’asina Forum, yet you claim that all your views are for Malaitans.
Mind you, not all of us Malaitans envy your organisation and your strings of media articles that lack depth and insight.
Your reply to Freeman Deo was ironic because it seems you have spent a whole day choosing synonyms from the Microsoft Word of your computer before sending it to Solomon Star to have it published.
Your flavorous use of words does not convince me of your usual out-of-focus and shallow style of writing, which often result in character assassination and misconceptions.
Anyway, I hope Ma’asina Forum will see the relevance of the points raised here and will find someone else to write letters on its behalf to ensure that the standard and reputation of the organisation is maintained.
