DEAR EDITOR – Thank you for the articles you published on 5/03/10 and 8/03/10 by Gladall Sesehala and another supporter or intending candidates.
I would like to take this chance to congratulate those people who contributed their articles in the Solomon Star and also for their time and effort.
Let me ask those people concerned to recall the 2006 general election and find out by themselves the situation within South Guadalcanal during those days.
I am only allowed to point some of the events happening in those days. We might call it blood shed constituency with no peace but tension.
The constituency was overtaken by greed and hatred that stemmed from the previous conflict on the island.
There were no businesses running, lack of medicine and schools closing.
In fact since 2000, the problems gripping South Guadalcanal were real, serious and were too many.
All these have changed since 2006 after we’ve chosen hope over fear and purpose over discord by electing the right person.
I want to remind the people of South Guadalcanal the time has come to set aside childish things.
The time has come to reaffirm our enduring spirit to choose our better history to carry forward that precious gift, that noble idea passed on from generation to generation the God-given promises, that all are free and all deserve a chance to pursue their full measure of happiness.
With those few remarks, I call upon those people to come out clear from their hiding cave and help assist to develop South Guadalcanal constituency rather than wasting their time by trying to put things to the media.
Come on new intending candidates for South Guadalcanal Constituency get out from the childish mentality, and act like an adult.
Before I conclude my advice is: This is the world of politics but you people need analyse your credibility through your supporter, otherwise don’t ever waste your time, the fact you need to know is this the time is close for our new election, and only those who perform miracles can change the mindset of the people of South Guadalcanal otherwise they are more than vital.
