These two brothers were newly appointed to take up senior posts in the church after many years being kept out for very good reasons.
They are in the field now actively working but guided by sinister motives which aimed at getting direct benefits to their extended family members.
Any desire they have with which can only be done through public support, Pr Johnny Tango will take advantage in his pastoral title to organise church activities, especially in Renbel, as a channel to have it done or make it known.
By these are hypocritical deeds. I’m being reminded of the old story about the two sons of Priest Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, who were very smart to use holy properties for their own satisfaction.
Hophni and Phinehas had taken everything for granted and none of whom could think otherwise. But at the end of their pride and stubborness, a sad and a humiliating piece of history of the family.
I’m terrbily surprised to see and to hear the two theologians Pr Johnny and the ex-pastor, Charley Tango, who usually preached and warned the people to avoid having the footsteps of Hophni and Phinehas.
During a church program, in early June, at Burnscreek each Honiara, Pr. Johnny led Charley to announce one of their amibitions, his candidancy for the upcoming national election 2010.
When he announced his political intention, he also told that Rennell Bellona needs a spiritual leader in the Parliament.
In the past, they announced it, too, in 3 ritual occasions held in Bellona.
Along with this combined effort, Pr. Johnny came on the other side to preach his sermon, some of which were broadcasted through SIBC, but so much in accusing the national and provincial members claiming that the nation have politicians but no leaders.
“What a Minister preaching about love!”
Before then, Pr Johhny said he had been working very hard to push his brother, Charley to be the principal of Betikama so that he may not have the chance to contest in the upcoming national election.
Charley! Why are there so many periodic events or secular festivals but you have always chosen church occasions as your focal point to make known your political interest?
Are you trying to pull Heaven down onto the earth to bless your political asperations? Or was there a prophecy foreteeling your parliamentary entry as a spiritual leader?
The only prophecy you are going to fulfil is “Many Ministers are digging their grave in their teeth”. This is all and nothing else.
You were a former minister of the SDA church but what happened that caused you to be excommunicated or did not fulfil your pastoral obligation?
Is it the right time for you to be a Minister, but in the parliament?
You have a good number of young and energetic students there at Betikama. They are the right people who should be taught how to be a spiritual leader.
What are you trying to tell or show in the old folk’s parliament? Don’t you know that inside parliament are loyal Christians than you are?
It is God himself that will do the judgement but not Charley and Johnny.
