Congratulations Philip

Dear Editor – I congratulate Hon. Danny Philip for being successfully elected as the next prime minister of Solomon Islands.

I am also happy with the response from the general public who accepted Hon. Philip’s election with calm, tolerance and understanding.

As in the practice in a democratic country like Solomon Islands, the choice of the majority takes precedence – that is – the majority rules.

So I also thank Hon. Steve Abana and his group for their efforts in forming a new government after the 2010 national general election.

I hope they will accept the result and work with Hon Philip’s government to move the country forward.

As a veteran politician who have the backing of other politicians with experience and standing, I believe that Hon. Philip and other parties in his coalition will work together to devise an amalgamated policy framework to transform the country in the next four years and improve the quality of life for all Solomon Islanders.

In the same token, as a Chief from Paripao, Northeast Guadalcanal constituency, I must also thank the out-going prime minister the Hon. Dr Derek Sikua for his services to the country and his constituency.

Finally, I wish Prime Minister Danny Philip and his coalition which comprise MPs from all corners of Solomon Islands all the best in leading this beautiful country in the next four years and appeal to all Solomon Islanders for their support.
