SELF-Sponsored students of the School of Education at the Solomon Island National University [SINU] Panatina campus have expressed disagreement with what they described as ‘unfair allowances’.
One of the concerned students Wilson Mae said self sponsored students are not included in the Ministry of Education’s list for allowances for practical.
“We were told only students sponsored by the SIG will get allowances for our practical part of the program and to us is very unfair.”
He said they met with the Ministry’s permanent secretary but were told that self sponsored students are not included in the teaching experience package.
“That includes travelling allowances and other privileges.
“We will go out and serve in schools the same way SIG sponsored students will do. We are on a same mission to serve the country. We should not be treated as outsiders.”
