BAD weather condition yesterday had forced one of the inter-island shipping vessels MV Bikoi 1 to return to Auki port.
The passenger boat was on its way to Honiara department Auki at 9am yesterday morning when it met strong wind and rough seas just off Auki.
One of the passengers Peter Dick speaking to the paper in Auki yesterday said he boarded M.V Bikoi I in Auki bound for Honiara.
“The ship took off not far from the Auki and started to go up and down in the waves and so the passengers call on the captain and crew to return to Auki port until the bad weather clears off,” he said.
As of yesterday afternoon MV Bikoi 1 with the other shipping vessels still berthed at Auki wharf awaiting the weather to improve before traveling.
Most passengers have either spent last night in the boats or infront of the shops.
