TRANSPORT owners and drivers are calling on responsible authorities to help start develop and improve infrastructures on the South road.
This came about following complaints of the deteriorating state of bridges in the South.
“Most of the bridges in the South road are starting to rot away, whilst others are shaking whenever a heavily loaded vehicle crossed it.
“This is dangerous especially for us the daily road users.
“I call on responsible authorities to help start improving, upgrading and developing the deteriorating infrastructure we have in the South,” a transport owner informed this paper.
Several other drivers have complained specifically about the bridge on Laulana river in Central Kwara’ae.
“This is one of the worst bridges in the region, most of all constituency.
“This has been a problem that has never been dealt with in the past up to now.
“It is high time that those responsible do something about it before something serious happens, especially for us drivers going to and fro from the bridge,” a group of drivers informed this paper.
Meanwhile Central Kwara’ae constituents are calling on their Member of Parliament, Jackson Fiulaoa to use his capacity and develop the infrastructure in his own constituency.
“We have an MP who has the capacity of developing our constituency and yet nothing has happened.
“Where is the RCDF (Rural Constituency Development Fund) which should have been used to address these problems,” most road users and vehicle owners complained.
