The upcoming election provides an opportunity for voters to select leaders who have a heart for the nation.
That’s according to president of the National Transformation Party of Solomon Islands (NTPSI) Pastor Ellison Barko.
He pointed this out at the launch of his party’s manifesto at Gavagha Tourism site.
Barko said the church plays an important role to influence the political domain with good governance.
“Church must hear God to lead this nation where God wants this nation to go,” Barko said.
“The Church needs to hear God and to take this nation to where God wants the people to go.
“We just running the church the way we want so if you and I want to take this nation to where God wants this nation to go we must be a nation that listens to God.”
Barko said when the church was formed in the book of Acts there were certain principles and truth God the Holy Spirit brought to the church.
He said it caused the church to rise to become an answer so that there is no decline in the society, community and no going down to lives of the people.
“Because there is a fear and sense of knowing where the nation is going so the church must rise to take that place to become a prophetic voice.”
Barko said it is difficult to understand the future unless God speaks to us.
