POPULAR local boyband DMP will this weekend hold a concert for victims of last week’s tragic flash flooding, in Sydney, Australia.

The band is expected to travel to Sydney on Friday where they will put on an additional show purposely for victims of Honiara’s devastating flash floods which have already claimed 23 lives and left more than 9000 people homeless.

The group has already held one concert in Brisbane last weekend organised by the Solomon Islands Brisbane Community where they helped raise $4,787.58 and collected other relief goods such as clothing, water, kitchen utensils and many other items which will all be shipped to Honiara.

In an email to this paper, DMP/Onetox lead vocalist Mostyn Hani (Cat) said that the concert for floods victims will be held on Saturday 12 April, 2014.

Apart from their scheduled show on Friday 11th April, they will team up with other Pacific Island artists such as Jagarizzar of PNG to sing in aid of the flood victims.

“This concert will purposely be for the victims of the flash floods in Honiara.

“We cried and grieved with the people of our country at this time and see us being here as an opportunity to finds means of helping them back home,” the singer said.

Mr Hani said that Sydney is the final destination of their two week Australian tour before jetting back to the country next Tuesday.
