THE case of a man accused of stealing a container of diesel fuel from a ship in Honiara will return to court on December 4.

Sam Toroniai appeared yesterday in court but was further remanded in custody to allow him to liaise with his lawyer.

He is also facing an indecent assault charge for allegedly aiding another man to sexually assault a young woman inside the bathroom of the Marine Division at the Point Cruz wharf.

In relation to the larceny from a ship charge, police alleged Toroniai who is a casual worker in the M.V Victory stole a container of diesel fuel from inside the ship.

He was allegedly intending to sell it at a market stall next to the wharf area but was however caught by his colleagues.

The container of fuel was retrieved from him and he was reported to the police where he was arrested, charged and remanded in custody.
