Cab drivers trained on customer service

ABOUT 30 taxi drivers registered under the Henderson International Airport Taxi association have undergone a training as part of improving their customer service to international visitors.

For the first time, local tourism business Solomon Host undertook the training.

Joyce Konofilia chief executive officer (CEO) of Solomon Host said, the training was requested by the taxi drivers through their coordinator Ender Rence to improve their customer service to international tourists.

Solomon Host was approached and they willingly and happily agreed to offer the training as it is one of the most important areas of service for the tourism industry.

A statement from Solomon Host said, the International airport is the gate-way to the country and taxi drivers are the first point of contact with locals, therefore it is vitally crucial that they know how to approach and serve the international tourism in a professional and efficient manner.

Solomon Host is going to conduct 3 evenings of training in introduction to tourism, customer service, grooming and hygiene and tour guiding for the taxi drivers.

“The training is done on good will and in fulfilling Solomon Host vision in improving tourism and customer services in the country.  Hopefully other taxi bases will come forward and take up the same training in the near future.”
