Veslyn Ririana pleaded guilty to one count of causing death by reckless or dangerous driving and presence of alcohol in a person’s blood.
Two other charges she also faces were withdrawn after a successful plea bargain between her lawyer and the prosecution at a previous court date.
The withdrawn charges are vehicle to be licensed and driver’s to be licensed.
Deputy Chief Magistrate Ricky Iomea after noting her guilty pleas adjourned the matter to June 24 for sentence submissions and mitigation.
Ririana are facing charges in relation to the incident at about 10pm on September 15, near the Honiara City Council roundabout in front of the Solomon Water office.
Ririana who was driving a car at that time was heading on a westerly direction towards the HCC roundabout at a very high speed.
She then swerved out of the main driveway onto the pedestrian walkway opposite to Solomon Water.
Att that time a lot of pedestrians including the deceased were walking along the footpath going back to their homes after attending a church program at Holy Cross Cathedral Church.
The accused having swerved onto the pathway hit the 15 year-old girl carrying her straight towards the Solomon Water fence.
A police patrol arrived at the scene and transported the girl to the National Referral Hospital but she was pronounced dead.
